You as a Carpenter at the Royal Inland Hospital will:

 

Calculates quantity of materials needed, selects stock, tools and supplies for the repair of hospital buildings. Repairs partitions, doors, windows, floors, furniture and building framework consisting of wood or metal, using power tools such as a planer, saws and related equipment 

 

May perform related tasks such as replacing windows, ceiling tile, concrete forms, mixing and placing concrete and patching stucco wall surfaces 

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of standard infection prevention and control requirements

Provide training, mentorship and support for Apprentices as required

Undertake training, both on and off site, on routine and specialist equipment and plant as deemed appropriate by EllisDon Facility Services Management

Is this the right role for you?

 

BC certified journeyperson or a recognized related trade certificate and valid Class 5 Driver's License

Spatial ability to understand forms and relationships when working from blue prints and specifications

Ability to perform arithmetic operations in calculating quantities of materials and in measuring and cutting building materials

Five (5) years’ carpentry experience as well as experience delivering service in an output specification contract model
