Studon Industrial Inc. a subsidiary of Stuart Olson Inc., is seeking Journeyman Industrial Electricians with 2+ years’ industrial electrical maintenance experience. This position is located in the Cold Lake, AB area on a client site. 

 

Working Conditions

 

Work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Working in and around heavy equipment.

 

  • Hazard awareness.
  • Personal Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • No camp of LOA provided.

 

Responsibilities

 

Leadership

 

Demonstrate the Stuart Olson Promise and contribute to it becoming embedded across the organization.

 

Electrician

  • Plan new or modify installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit.
  • Pull wire through conduit.
  • Plan and install tray supports and cable tray systems as shown in blueprints and specifications.
  • Terminate wiring in supply equipment, junction boxes and devices.
  • Test circuits to ensure integrity and safety.
  • Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
  • Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
  • Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment as built.
  • Supervise and mentor apprentices.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Other duties as requested by the supervisor.
  • Understand and practice company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

 

  • Certified Journeyman Electrician
  • Valid government issued photo ID
  • OSSA Fall Protection
  • CSTS-0.9
  • H2S Alive
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction
  • Pre-site Drug and Alcohol testing

Physical Requirements

 

  • The ability to climb 4 stories or more
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • The ability to lift 50 lbs on a continual basis
  • The ability to work in lower level confined spaces for 3 hour periods
  • The ability to be exposed to various types of work environments
  • Use of various shop equipment and trade related hand tools
  • Use of ladders or scaffolding
