THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director of the General Department, the Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, management and execution of assigned projects with the objective of enhancing profitability, productivity and efficiency, while meeting schedules, safety standards and “local involvement” requirements as established by the client. The Project Manager will provide personal leadership to create positive and productive relationships with all internal and external parties in order to maximize the project performance and results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in weekly or monthly scheduled meetings of the General Contracting Department to review project

progress, discuss project or client issues, discuss upcoming projects, manpower and equipment

planning

• Stays abreast of current developments and trends in all relevant technical/professional knowledge areas

• Ensures the corporate values /standards of business conduct / human resource philosophy is understood,

embraced and implemented throughout the project and personally demonstrated in daily interactions and

relationships

• Confer with Construction Manager and Director, General Department in the selection of a Project Coordinator(s),

Project Superintendent, Safety Advisors, Surveyors, Foremen, etc. for each project as required Highlight any areas of potential problems, difficulty or ambiguity at project start and establish processes to minimize risk to Acres

• Maintain a high degree of proficiency with Heavy Bid and Heavy Job to access estimates and updated project management status

• Request, receive and approve all shop drawings and issue/distribute approved copies

• Prepare construction execution plans, while ensuring client’s needs are clearly understood when providing

construction direction and construction priorities

• Establish and model a culture of making project decisions based on achieving and enhancing project profitability, meeting schedules, maintaining customer satisfaction, increasing field productivity and safety and in consideration of constraints and resources

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Experience managing projects, preferably in residential or general construction

• 10-15 years of leadership experience

• Degree or Diploma in an Engineering, Construction Management or related technical field

• Strong comprehension of construction industry

• Uncompromising integrity and drive
